U.S. stocks climbed on Tuesday after a retreat in oil prices eased investors’ inflation concerns and the prospect that the Federal Reserve will move more aggressively to hike interest rates.
The S&P 500 rose 1.7%, while the blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average was ahead 1.4%, or about 462 points. The technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite rose 2.2%. The S&P 500 began the week with modest losses Monday.
